Hello, y’all! Welcome back to another development blog for ZSGO! In this blog, we’ll catch you up on everything that’s been happening in the ZSGO community. We’ll go over the Steam Next Fest, which is about a month away, and everything else we have going on as a small Indie dev team. It’s been a busy few weeks and release is right around the corner, so let’s get into it!

Steam Next Fest!

First things first, Steam Next Fest (a 7-day long gaming festival for up-and-coming games & demos)! We are planning big things for the Steam Next Fest. Knowing that this is such a massive event means we aren’t taking it lightly. Not only are we going to be renting out an Airbnb for a few days, but we also have many different events planned over the fest!

The past few weeks have consisted of carefully cultivating every detail for the stream. From the decorations to the overlays and even the on-stream events, we hope to see y’all in there and put on a SHOW! Also, if you were wondering what “Command the Devs” means in the poster image for the next fest, we are planning on some sort of system that allows you guys to mess with us during the stream. I’m not too sure how exactly the system will work yet, but stay tuned!

3 Months Until Release

With less than 80 days left until release, it is officially crunch time! Everything is flowing nicely and the whole team is doing their thing! We have been pretty good at keeping a nice flow of content and updates for the community, while still packing a lot of surprises for the big release! Which is much harder than it sounds.

There are some gold nuggets I have to drop in the Dev Blog though, you know that! We have a BEAUTIFUL new trailer in the works. I’ve had a bit of a sneak peek and it is looking so good. You guys are going to love it.

All in all, we are feeling confident that, come mid-November, we are about to have an epic time with y’all in the world of ZSGO!

ZSGO Community Building

To touch back on the community, it has been a BLAST over in the Discord. The giveaways are getting exciting and tons of new people are stopping by every day asking for keys to the Beta! We had a community member win the “Build a Camp” giveaway, which you can see in the middle picture below.

Also, we have a competition in progress right now. The current survivor leading the way is xXJoshXx, you can check out his screenshot below (the first one). There’s only a week left, so be sure to grab a key, get in-game, and take the best screenshot possible!

New Discord Subscriptions!

Oh, I almost forgot! We are testing out a new Discord Server Subscription Feature! Currently, you can get a 1 week free trial. This includes cool benefits like access to exclusive channels, your name being etched into the SafeZone, and even a FULL game key! Of course, don’t forget about access to all of our server emojis too! Head on over to the Discord and check it out!

In Conclusion

We hope this dev blog was helpful and is getting you hyped for the release of ZSGO! Our team is dedicated to creating an immersive and exciting zombie survival experience for all the survivors out there. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to work towards the game’s release. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for new giveaways and updates!

Thank you for your continued support, and we can’t to see you in the world of ZSGO!

Ever since I built my first PC to play custom zombie maps on 'Call of Duty: World at War,' I knew PC gaming would be a huge part of my life. My passion for zombies didn't just stop there—I grew up playing iconic games on my PlayStation 2 and 3, like 'Resident Evil 5,' 'Dead Rising,' 'The Walking Dead,' 'Fallout,' 'Bioshock,' and the 'Sly' series. However, once I switched to PC, there was no looking back; my PlayStations found their way into storage, and my heart stayed with PC gaming.

My love for survival games deepened with 'Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead’s DayZ' mod, where fate had me meet Dev Ear and Dev SuperPoggers atop the triple yellow in Cherno. A simple meetup on TeamSpeak turned into a lifelong friendship. We've traveled across states—from California to Florida—bonding over countless survival games like 'Rust Legacy' and 'WarZ.' Our adventures led us to run our own Rust servers and Minecraft communities, even tinkering with game development tools like Unity and Unreal Engine.

Our shared dreams and dedication have culminated in the creation of ZSGO, our ultimate zombie survival game. Bringing our collective expertise and creativity to the table, we're committed to crafting an unforgettable gaming experience that stands out in the survival genre.

Howdy survivors!
I'm Dev Ear and I mainly handle the gameplay loop, web development, and Discord! I have also been surviving online FPS games for 10+ years. I have probably briefly touched every survival fps game you can think of.
The current survival fps drought means that it’s time for our team to step in and create what everyone has been waiting for!
Besides game development, I like making music and every now and then touching some grass. Since release, it's been nothing but ZSGO however. Can't wait to see what the game evolves into!
See you all in ZSGO!
